During the past few weeks the glacier here in the Comox Valley has been completely obliterated by smoke. The past two summers we have been inundated by the worst air quality in our history due to the dramatic increase in forest fires on the Island and in BC, Washington State and California. I don't like to dwell on the obvious but these changes in our environment are becoming the new normal. Disconcerting to us all. I will appreciate the rain and cooler temperatures when they arrive. Take care all. Carry water in the car in case of an emergency.
